ISSC Receives Local Community Grant

The Pawling Community Foundation, inPawling, New York, has granted the Institute for the Study of Somatic Communication a community grant to begin movement classes in the area.

ISSC Global Coordinator and Pawling Project key contact, Leighann Kowalsky, is excited to seed the Pawling community artists with a foundational basis that might move toward an ensemble CoLab in the future.

“I’ve been building a Pawling-based arts community for a few years now, with my co-collaborator Zach Morris (Third Rail Projects), and I’m looking forward to ongoing partnership with The Pawling Community Foundation as this endeavor grows”. Kowalsky shares.

The project, which will offer movement classes with shared instruction over the course of the next 7-months, will wrap in December 2026.
