ISSC receives an Arts Mid-Hudson Arts & Culture Project Grant!

The Institute for the Study of Somatic Communication, in partnership with Leighann Kowalsky and Nita Little, have been approved for an Arts Mid-Hudson Arts & Culture Project Grant for a project in Wallkill, NY in April, 2025.

Taking place at Wildheart Center for Performance and Embodiment Practice, a land-based culture hub incubating new performances cultivating deep community hosting transformational events, the ISSC will be co-facilitating an Open Public Contact Improv Workshop, followed by an Ensemble Dancing & Somatic Research Training (ISSC), and culminated in a performance with Nita Little as the lead choreographer. Other local Hudson Valley choreographers and dancers will contribute to the performance element, as well.

The ISSC is grateful for this opportunity to provide support to local artists, facilitators and choreographers, while also creating accessible programming for the local community to train in the ISSC method for Somatic Research.

Thank you!
