Institute for the Study of Somatic Communication

The ISSC supports the research, community & practice of somatic embodiment & communication across the globe, in a variety of applications. 

The ISSC seeks to develop Relational Intelligence and other transferable skills of Somatic Communication in dancers, affiliate researchers, and everyday humans.

The ISSC serves global populations who benefit from communication that happens beyond the verbal modality.

The key programs of the ISSC include:

  • Educational Offerings at the Academic/University level,

  • a Global Network of Dance Research Colaboratories, &

  • Trainings in Somatic Research Practices for dancers and other body-based disciplines.
